You wrote, ‘I think Bellow might be turning into my favourite author, and I’ve never read anything by him before. ‘
Did you read other works by Saul B. ?
    Roger

Will you read The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner?

I have just discovered your website; I love it!! Of the books I have read – many of them classics – your impressions of them are very similar to my own, but your way of exploring plot, characters, themes and setting is just a joy to read. I’ve also read some contemporary fiction as I am in a book club. I’m often disappointed in these books – and I’m usually in a minority! However to read your reviews is something of a relief as you often identify weaknesses in the texts that nobody else seems to be concerned with – and that I have noticed too.

I’m just about to re-read Pride and Prejudice – and your review of it was a joy to read.

    Thank you

This is the best reading website I have found. I want to congratulate you and tell you how much I admire your work. I first found it so that I could get something out of Typhoon, by Conrad. I DID because of your review. My Goodreads review points to your website with praise for your review. I have now added a shelf to Goodreads called Wholesale so that I can keep track of all that you have reviewed that I have or plan to read. TY, TY, again

You are very generous. Please let people know, as I don’t advertise or promote the site! (Perhaps I should….)

I WILL talk it up. I have 57 books on my WHOLESALE shelf and need to read 15 of them. No 1 on the TBR is The Secret Scripture.

Bought Slow Horses for my Kindle today… entirely because you had read and reviewed it.

I just found your website, and I love it! Would you consider reviewing a Guy Gavriel Kay book or ‘Mythos’ by Stephen Fry?

Hi so first of all thank you because your summary on la Bête Humaine saved my uni degree- then just as suggestions you should read Rues des Boutiques Obscures by Patrick Modiano , Les Caves du Vatican by André Gide… Ferragus by Balzac and the if you’re really up for something challenging La Disparition by Perec.

    Great site
